It’s that time again! Break out your boots, suits, and cocktail dresses for The Fall Ball and join us to raise funds for Hope Academy for Kids and children across the community this year. Elizabethtown Lifestyle is excited to host the third annual event at Thurman Landing in Sonora, Kentucky, on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Sponsorships are available at different levels. The vibe is rustic red carpet, so expect a fun mix of black tie and cocktail attire with a southwestern flair. We need as many sponsors as possible to make this year’s event a success. The 2023 goal for The Fall Ball is $25,000 and we hope to reach that through a combination of sponsorships, donations, individual ticket sales, and the silent and live auctions. We will begin picking up checks for sponsorships on September 1 or checks may be delivered to Hope Academy for Kids. An EventBrite link may be found online on the Elizabethtown Lifestyle Instagram & Facebook pages for individual tickets if available. $100 from each $150 ticket goes directly to Hope Academy for Kids. They are a local after school mentorship program that cares for disadvantaged students who need additional support. Their approach is holistic; they partner students with caring adults, giving academic help, providing snacks and meals, offering recreational activities, opening their on-site clothing closet to students and their families, teaching moral and spiritual lessons, and so much more. THE NEED FOR HOPE ACADEMY FOR KIDS • Many students are NOT succeeding in school. • Family structures are often frayed by hectic schedules or poor parenting skills. • Few adults are available to be consistent, positive role models. • Many children do not have the time for or access to recreational outlets due to financial hardship. • Children have difficulty developing social and life skills without life coaches or mentors. There are many barriers in the lives of at-risk children today, such as peer pressure, learning difficulties, poor academic achievement, dysfunctional or broken homes, as well as poverty. All of these strains hurt a child’s development and can leave them with lasting health challenges. Many children lack the support that is needed to succeed in their complex and broken worlds—which is where Hope Academy for Kids steps in.
